Primary role of Laboratory Technician is to perform all required tests, analysis, and pre operation inspections in a precise manner with understanding of the science involved and meeting all food safety, customer quality, and worker safety requirements. Our Quality Assurance team partners with Production, Packaging as well as Sanitation to insure we produce Safe Quality Products in a timely manner.
- Pre Operation inspections in production departments which include the understanding and use of technical analytical instruments as well as visual examination of equipment
- Perform analytical laboratory tests of product. This will include pulling samples for analysis; Work within time guidelines for analysis. Delays in analysis can cause delays with production, shipping of product and ultimately Customer Service Issues. A strong focus on accuracy is mandatory
- Operate equipment and work within our system as trained and specified
- Ensure accuracy of documentation and record keeping (including recording charts). Compliance to all regulatory agency guidance is mandatory
- Adhere to all current SOPs, procedures, and quality requirements
- Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area throughout the facility and common areas
- Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments
- Obtain and maintain training, certifications, and licenses that are required
- Perform all other duties as assigned that are necessary, required, or directed by plant management
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in relevant math skills
- Competency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Willing to perform all tasks when and where assigned and as changing situations arise
- Maintain professional and positive attitude and work ethic
- Must follow all Yancey’s Fancy GMPs and work consistent with all food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements
- Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, grab, push, pull, hold and carry
- Lift up to 40lbs
- Standing, walking, and climbing for 8+ hours a day
- Must be able to handle varying temperatures per department, between 35 degrees to 80+ degrees
