Job Description

The Human Resources Manager will support Yancey’s Fancy vision and strategic direction by delivering high-quality direction, support, and advice. Working closely with an HR co-manager, the role will be responsible for carrying out the daily activities of the Human Resources function including employee benefits, employee relations, staffing along with company policies and initiatives. Additionally, he/she will assist in ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and operating procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides support and guidance to employees while addressing questions and concerns, and communication of policies and procedures
  • Foster a positive working environment; promote organizational values and behaviors while enforcing disciplinary policy
  • Assists with employee relations issues including settling employee disputes, final disciplinary actions as well as terminations
  • Thorough knowledge of employment regulations including Worker’s Compensation, Disability, FMLA, NYS Paid Family Leave, NY Sick and Safe Leave, and Covid protocol
  • Determines eligibility for leaves of absence and leave length
  • Oversee regulatory compliance and reporting: OSHA (Worker’s Comp First Reporting, paperwork and ongoing contact); 300 Log, 300A, and annual reporting; EEOC Annual Reporting
  • Remains current with all regulatory postings/employee notices
  • Conducts accident/incident investigations
  • Manage benefit process for new hires and current employees: Vendor Contact for Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance; Medical Benefits – coordinate renewals with vendors, and initial eligibility, open enrollment, and COBRA with employees
  • Support the hiring process, including reviewing of job descriptions and interviews
  • Review and revise company policy and documentation
  • Other duties as assigned
